A clever design label in the US has cracked the code and figured out how to make tyres sexy for women – by turning them into handbags.

Passchal creates chic handbags and accessories out of discarded tyre inner tubes collected from around the country (yes, and cleaned rigorously).

Passchal pairs the recycled rubber with equally eco-conscious leathers – they’re by-products and vegetable dyed.

Using leather trims allows Passchal to introduce new colour and textures to their designs and also adds a bit to the price tag - but it’s well worth it for a unique, eco-conscious accessory.

They’ve even chic-ified the dreary, old nappy bag, just for Dads!

With such celebs as Liza Minnelli and Susan Sarandon loving Passchal's, we think it's time to hit the road and buy yet another new handbag, if only to support a new initiative. The things we do...
