Interview with Kerri-Anne Kennerley
Written by Juliet Potter: 12-April-2015
Kerri-Anne Kennerley needs no introduction. A doyenne of television, she is as professional as she is personable.
Ageless, fearless and with a fabulous sense of humour and fun that never seems to dull, KAK is well known to lending her hand to charities and her latest association is a welcome addition to the automotive world.
An ambassador for Kumho Tyres Pink Fitters Day 2015, KAK is helping the McGrath Foundation to place McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities across Australia along with awareness of safety regarding tyre care.
Kumho Tyres’ Pink Fitters Day is the company’s major community initiative that sees tyre dealerships Australia-wide fundraise for the McGrath Foundation by turning pink for the day.
Kumho Tyres is a long-term friend of the McGrath Foundation and has donated over $500,000.
We interviewed Kerri-Anne about all things auto, tyres and her husband's tendency to back seat drive.
What was your first car?
My first car was a navy blue Datsun.
What car do you drive now?
I now drive a Toyota Kluger Grande.
What is your favourite driving soundtrack?
Anything Aretha Franklin.
Worst driving habit?
I have been known to put on lipstick at traffic lights.
Best car/driving movie?
Fast and Furious 7.
Dream car and passenger (and why?).
Aston Martin Rapide (because it's the only one to fit my golf clubs) and Daniel Craig because it's straight out of a James Bond movie.
Best place for a drive getaway?
Nelson Bay to see family.
You're designing a brand new car. What would you include for women that you don't see now?
A sound proof compartment for a husband who constantly tells you where you should going but will never ask directions. Driver and passenger seats that are flush against the centre piece so items can not be dropped down the side onto the floor.
Tyres. How often should you change them and why?
While every car is different, having a good tyre to start with will help increase the longevity of your wheels significantly. I suggest you stop by your local Kumho Tyre retailer to get a free tyre assessment every six months or so. If you’re due for a tyre check-up, go see your Kumho retailer this May 1st as it's Pink Fitters Day! For $5 you can also walk away with a set of fabulous pink valve caps, and go in the running to win a trip to the Gold Coast to play golf with me!
