smart fortwo designed by Jeremy Scott

Quirky-esque American fashion designer Jeremy Scott has wowed (and erked) peeps the world over with his specially designed smart fortwo set to hit dealerships in selected countries, stat.
The petite, winged ride is priced at a super-crisp AU$48,000 to AU$58,500 - around double the cost of a regular smart car.
Reasons for the upped price include the diamond-stitched upholstery, leather-wrapped dashboard, and his brand's infamous trademark wings, which are all part and parcel of this little package.
"I wanted to design something out of the ordinary, something that expressed my dreams and fantasies and that transferred my fashion ideas to automotive design," says Jeremy.
smart Australia has no intention of importing them here, but says they'll be more than happy to assist if anyone really wants to buy one.
The car started just as a concept car (not for mass production or sale), but surprisingly turned into more. The original concept version had shiny, mirror-like chrome rims on the wheels (because "Being a fashion person, I like to look at myself a lot," he says) and the wings served as brake lights. For safety reasons, these things have been omitted.
Jeremy says he "can well imagine my friends and cool people all over the world loving the unique design of this smart". This is coming from a guy who made custom outfits for Katy Perry, Rihanna and Lady Gaga, so you never know.
Well, what do you think? Is this little ride a success or a fail?
