Sarah Wilson is a true cosmopolitan girl! Her amazing career has spanned politics, newspaper journalism, modelling, the food and wine industries, women's health advocacy and women's magazines. After leaving her post as Editor of Cosmopolitan magazine late last year, she has joined News Ltd. as an opinion columnist for the Daily Telegraph and is a corporate presenter for leading global trend website www.thecoolhunter.com.au Who then could be more qualified to test-drive the hot new Holden Astra SRi Hatch for us?
What did you like about this car?
The fact it's a small car that's not too "girly". It's compact and has all the features a woman seeks, but has a sleek, sporty and rather androgynous aesthetic.
Three words to describe the Holden Astra SRi Hatch?
Compact, zippy and elegant.
And the drive?
Smooth and tight. It definitely hugs the road and doesn't feel too "tinny", like many small cars can.
Describe your style?
I'm an outdoorsy, efficient, slightly manic type. I guess my fashion style is a little edgy and eccentric, but more about clean lines than fancy flounce. I'm tall – I look silly in frills.
How did this car suit your style?
It's small enough to get around town efficiently, but big enough to fit my surf board on top.
Stand out features?
The heated seats! The leather seats are great and the compact, sporty mechanisms in the indicator, gear stick etc., are great.
Suggestion for the Astra SRi's CD player?
Feist, The Reminder.
Dream passengers?
My mum in the front (because she's a great companion and I like it when she sees things as I do) and my future partner and my mate Kate in the back – I like the idea of both supporting me from behind and providing the entertainment.
Dream getaway destination for all of you in the Astra SRi?
Somewhere up the mid-North coast, driving through the lush hillside, through winding roads, after being at the beach all day.
